- It seeks to emphasise the serious scenario that the earth is going through and to encourage collective action to respond to climate change.
- LIFEECODIGESTION 2.0 was created to support the production of biogas as green energy.
The 28th of January marks the “World Day for Action on Global Warming”, also known as “World CO2 Emissions Reduction Day”, a date designated by the United Nations (UN) to raise awareness and sensitise about climate change and the environmental impacts it causes.
The increase in global temperatures is accelerating due to the emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs) mainly caused by human activity. These gases include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxides and chlorofluorocarbons. This day aims to raise awareness and encourage people to rethink the impact of their actions on the planet and to promote actions that benefit the environment. These emissions are the cause of the rise in the earth’s temperature, which in turn leads to deglaciation and deaths of flora and fauna, as well as causing health problems for the population.
Awareness raising, together with political regulation at the environmental level, is of crucial importance. In this line, the innovative technology applied by LIFE ECODIGESTION 2.0 encourages and promotes the use of renewable energies, thus reducing the consumption of energy sources that have a harmful impact on the environment. Particularly, through the production of biogas, using waste and mixtures processed in anaerobic digesters of WWTPs. In short, this project has a tool characterised above all by its efficient contribution to the energy transition, in which Europe’s energy independence and transition strategy is aimed, open to its capitalisation and exploitation. This January 28th we invite you to become aware of the importance of reducing our carbon footprint, and to avoid as much as possible the excessive production of CO2.
