GLOBAL OMNIUM
Global Omnium Medioambiente S.L (GO) pertenece al grupo de empresas Global Omnium y es la empresa coordinadora y responsable de la gestión del proyecto.
Global Omnium Medioambiente S.L. fue fundada en 1918, uniéndose al grupo Aguas de Valencia en 1993, actualmente denominado Grupo Global Omnium. La actividad empresarial de este grupo de empresas se centra en la gestión del ciclo integral del agua, desarrollando múltiples líneas de negocio complementarias que crean sinergias para la optimización de los recursos hídricos, además del tratamiento de residuos.
Hoy en día, el grupo empresarial gestiona en torno a 400 estaciones de depuración de aguas residuales (EDAR), asegurando que sus vertidos cumplen con los requisitos legales. Estas plantas de tratamiento tienen todas las tecnologías disponibles en el mercado para atender a una población de 5.5 millones de usuarios en diferentes áreas geográficas. Con este fin, el grupo está constantemente analizando nuevas soluciones que, al tiempo que refuerzan el principal negocio de la compañía, incluyen nuevos servicios para satisfacer las necesidades de los clientes y la sostenibilidad ambiental.
En los últimos años, bajo el compromiso de mejora continuada de la empresa y con el cometido de ofrecer un servicio de calidad, Global Omnium ha ejecutado un gran número de proyectos de investigación con financiación nacional y europea y ha iniciado diversos proyectos internacionales que le han llevado a África, Oriente Medio, Latino América y Estados Unidos.
Finalmente, Global Omnium ha formalizado su compromiso con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de las Naciones Unidas, integrando sus principales propuestas de actuación en su estrategia corporativa. Mediante la adhesión a la Red española del Pacto Mundial a través de la firma del compromiso el 6 de septiembre 2019, la compañía se integra como “participant” en United Nations Global Compact. Se trata de la mayor iniciativa de responsabilidad social y desarrollo sostenible del mundo protagonizada por organizaciones y empresas. Un compromiso firme con la sostenibilidad que Global Omnium mantiene desde hace años en todas sus vertientes, especialmente en la medioambiental y que ahora encuentra un encaje reconocible en los ODS.

ÁGUAS DO CENTRO LITORAL
Águas do Centro Litoral, S.A. (AdCL), fue creada el 29 de mayo de 2015 mediante Decreto Ley n. 92/2015, integrando las antiguas empresas de servicios Águas do Mondego, Simlis y Simria. Esta entidad opera el Sistema de Saneamiento y Abastecimiento de Agua Multi-municipal del Centro de Portugal (MMWSSSCP), que cubre un área geográfica de 5.485 Km2 y es el resultado de la agregación del sistema de saneamiento multi-municipal del estuario de Aveiro, el saneamiento multi-municipal sistema de Lis, y el sistema pluri-municipal de abastecimiento de agua y saneamiento de Baixo Mondego-Bairrada. AdCL y las empresas del Grupo Águas de Portugal se dedican a promover el equilibrio entre los elementos naturales, aire, agua y tierra, y el esfuerzo ecológico sostenido.
El MMWSSSCP cubre la captación, tratamiento y suministro de agua para consumo público, la captación, tratamiento y rechazo de efluentes domésticos y urbanos, y la recepción de efluentes, su tratamiento y rechazo, los cuales deben realizarse de manera regular, continua y eficiente. La principal actividad de la empresa es el suministro de agua y tratamiento de efluentes. Sin embargo, otras actividades son intrínsecas a esta actividad principal como son el control de la calidad del agua, el control de la calidad de los efluentes rechazados, el mantenimiento de un sistema de calidad global, la gestión de activos, la planificación y ejecución de inversiones, el control de gestión, el sistema contable, entre otras.
AdCL está comprometida con la mejora continua, proporcionando infraestructuras y equipos, así como la información y los recursos necesarios para asegurar la efectividad y eficiencia de sus procesos, contribuyendo a la mejora de la calidad de vida de la comunidad y a la creación de valor en la región.
Posee un laboratorio acreditado por IPAC desde 2002, según NP EN ISO/IEC 17025, con el certificado no. L0290, que se puede consultar en la web del Instituto Portugués de Acreditación, www.ipac.pt
FINNOVARIEGO
Finnova (FIN) es una fundación europea privada sin ánimo de lucro con sede en Bruselas (Bélgica). La misión de Finnova es ayudar en la creación de iniciativas innovadoras (Innova) a través de la financiación y el apoyo adecuados. Las áreas de especialización de Finnova incluyen el desarrollo sostenible, la economía circular, la gestión de aguas y residuos, empleo y juventud, TIC y el turismo, entre otros.
Finnova tiene como objetivo promover una cultura de innovación a través de estrategias y prácticas inteligentes en diferentes entidades, instituciones, organizaciones y comunidades en toda la UE y otras áreas geográficas.
La fundación tiene experiencia para impulsar la Innovación Abierta y el emprendimiento con el fin de buscar soluciones tecnológicas a problemas ambientales comunes. Finnova ayuda a las empresas a comercializar los productos, procesos y servicios. Esto es parte de la misión de Finnova en este proyecto.
De entre las competencias desarrolladas por Finnova destaca el desarrollo de estrategias de comunicación y difusión, actividades de networking, promoción y lobby, el asesoramiento legal y financiero o el soporte legal y financiero a la innovación.
OUR PROJECT
The energy consumed in the wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) of the European Union (EU) is between 1 and 3% of the total energy produced in the Union, which represents about 10,000 GWh/year and causes the emission of more than 27 million tons of CO2 to the atmosphere. Furthermore, this electricity demand is going to increase approximately 20% in 15 years.
