LIFE ECODIGESTION 2.0 would like to commemorate the consolidation of the European Single Market, one of the main achievements of European integration and one of its main driving forces, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. The European Single Market has allowed goods, services, people and capital to move freely across the EU, facilitating its life course and providing new opportunities for its citizens and businesses alike.
The integration of Member States’ economies has fostered the growth and competitiveness of Member States. Its existence has ensured the acceleration of the transition to a greener and more digital economy. Our project, LIFE ECODIGESTION 2.0 with its innovative and sustainable technology, is an example of the implementation of such a transition, which is in line with one of the main growth strategies of the EU to achieve its climate neutrality, the “European Green Deal“.
From LIFE ECODIGESTION 2.0 we face the challenge of reducing net emissions of greenhouse gases, this being one of the main objectives of the pact, scheduled for 2050. The project’s innovative technology aims to avoid the loss of resources and energy contained in waste and WWTP sludge. This allows economic and environmental benefits to be obtained through a greater and better controlled production of biogas, optimising the exploitation of waste, thus being an excellent regenerative element within a circular economy. Ultimately, the vision of a common economic market consolidates an area of fruitful cooperation between EU countries, through which joint objectives and common strategies emerge, aimed at solving the political, economic, social and environmental challenges faced by the Member States.
