Every June 23, the International Women in Engineering Day is celebrated, an international awareness campaign in order to promote the development of women in engineering and highlight their contribution to the field and society.

This initiative, created by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) in 2014 in celebration of its 95th anniversary, is dressed on each occasion with a diferent reason to honor the work of outstanding women in the field of engineering and related sciences, math and technology.

This year, the association proposed to acknowledge “the best, brightest and bravest women in engineering”, within the framework of the theme “Inventors and Innovators”, who dare to “be part of the solution and help build a better future”.

At LIFE ECODIGESTION 2.0 we support this initiative and the values it brings. In our project, we feel honored to have inspired a group of four young people, who have triumphed in the Girls4Tech Startup Europe Awards. Their proposal consisted of the development of a mobile application, capable of helping to dispose of the large amounts of waste generated in the HORECA sector, supporting the circular economy model and the generation of green energy in line with the objectives of the Green Deal.

LIFE ECODIGESTION 2.0 aims to continue inspiring girls and women for the development of sustainable technological projects, as well as enhancing their training in careers of the STEAM field.
